The Constitutionality of Health Care

I do not know of anywhere in the constitution that it says anything about the government being responsible for providing health care to citizens. The Obama administration is claiming that including birth control in the benefits which must  legally be provided by businesses is constitutional, but the constitution does not say anything about having to provide health care at all. How can you force a business to provide something which should be the responsibility of an individual? The government needs to stay out of what they have no business in. Forcing people to pay for something they religiously or conscientiously object to is a surefire way to  get them to exercise their “Right of Revolution”.  I understand that it is in many people’s interest to provide health care for those who cannot afford it, but the Government has gone too far in what is included. If you are isolating the majority religious group by what you put in your health care plan, then you need to go, because you are trying to please your “Special interest groups” and no longer care about the majority. The preamble talks about the rights of life and liberty, so let people live free and get out of their business. You cannot claim to be supporting people’s right to “life” by providing health care and at the same time withhold that same right by permitting abortion. This also takes away people’s liberty when you force them to pay for this in their taxes.

Love/hate…Politics!

I have a love/hate relationship with politics. I do not understand my overcoming urge to read or listen to anything political. I hate it but I have to know! It gets my so frustrated sometimes, but those “AHA!!!” moments really make it worth it.

I am bored…

Politics. This stuff is getting so nasty maybe we should start censoring it? I guess that is what SOPA was for.

This stuff is getting really nasty! The GOP candidates are attacking each other more than they are for the Democrats. How about someone make a deal to be the VP already?

“To thine own self be enough”

“To thine own self be enough”. You gotta love the Troll philosophy. I think that modern internet trolls go more for the “To thine own self be more than enough” or maybe “To thine own self be better than that guy”. Yes, Ibsen’s ‘Peer Gynt’ is one of my favorite stories.

Israel/Iran

Remember what was happening just a few years ago with Gaza? The threat to Israel is real. Their neighbors do hate them and I believe will not hesitate to attack them if the United States does not back up Israel. I understand that it is a horrible option to have a war with Iran, but it does not look like they are willing to end their nuclear arms program peacefully. If they are able to acquire nuclear missiles then a war with them will be even more devastating to everyone, because do you really expect them to sit there on their bombs and do nothing? I do not think so, not when they have the military capability to rival Israel’s, and how do you think that is going to end? With Israel quietly surrendering to a dozen countries with revenge on their minds? No way, that is what the bombs are for. So would you rather have some genocide in Israel with a possible nuclear holocaust? Or another war in the middle east with the U.S. involved? You could let Israel attack them alone, but how many countries do you think would be more than happy to help their wonderful neighbor Iran in destroying their most hated worst enemy?
So what is a better option? Peaceful negotiation? You have seen how well that has worked thus far. Iran is in no mood for letting the rich western countries hog all the nuclear weapons for themselves? No way! They want to be able to pressure the Israelis. But seriously. Look at how they have reacted to the boycott, by threatening to escalate. So how do you think this will end? A war sooner than later will come of this, but sooner may just be the better option.
Who knows. Iran might have a change of heart and drop the whole thing, but this is cutting it really close. And hey, if America can go to war just on the suspicion of weapons of mass destruction, then why not against someone they know has them?
I know this has nothing to do with rich people controlling the government, but it seems important anyway. By the way I am not a wild Ginrich supporter, I prefer Romney right now.

Go West Young Man!

Whatever happened to “Go west young man?” The jobs are all over there, but we have the pacific in the way…

Yes this is unfortunately the fate of many Americans in this economical downturn. The job market is tight, stocks are low, inflation is rising, and raising taxes on the rich is unconstitutional. We need a lot of fixing right now. I think that the problem is outsourcing. Millions of jobs are being outsourced just so we can get cheaper products, and what is the result? No one has any money to buy them because they do not have a job. We need to unfortunately end free trade and put some higher taxes on more importation to encourage American manufacturing and the likes. I know that you have heard all of this before but just my opinion. (By the way, guess who owns the outsourcing companies?)

Abortion…

I am very sorry president Obama, but I will not vote for anyone who supports the legalization and government funding of murdering babies. I do not care what else you have done or what you plan to do. I will not vote for you. Taxpayer money should not  be used to pay for the killing of a child just because their mom lacks the morality and responsibility to raise her own offspring. What gives a person the right to choose whether or not an unborn human should get to live or die? One of the reasons for the United States constitution is to secure the blessings of liberty, but liberty is not an excuse to create a person and then kill them. As soon as you are conceived in America, you are a human and should be considered a citizen of the United States of America, and if the country is at the point where it can justify murdering these humans, then it is on a path of moral decline and will undoubtedly plunge straight into chaos. How can you justify killing a child and at the same time say that it is wrong to kill abortion clinic doctors? What is the difference? People are people no matter what their age is whether that is a hundred years old, or a hundredth of a second old. If you can justify their murder, then you are incredibly mixed up and have very inconsistent morals.

The Iran Dillema

Boy this world is getting crazier every day. Iran is one the verge of having nuclear weapons and there is a very real chance of war coming from it. I hate to be a warmonger, but I think that a preemptive strike is the best course of action. Believe me, I do not want another war anymore than you do, but the consequences of inaction could be catastrophic. I know that with the new pressures the EU is putting on Iran that maybe there can be a peaceful resolution, but I doubt that Iran plans to stop it’s nuclear weapon development, wether they do it in secret or not (which I am certain would happen no matter how many inspectors are sent). In my opinion, there is going to be a war at some point between Iran and somebody. If they have nuclear capabilities, then many more people are at risk than if an attack was launched on them now. So the safest course of action is war. I really do not see another option unless maybe if China and India get involved, but their markets are so tied into that oil that it would take a lot of pressure to get that to happen, especially with such strained relationships as the U.S. has with them now.

Does anyone have any other solutions in mind? I would love to hear a better way.

“What to think” ~ School

Schools, at least in the public school system, are pretty set in what they view as facts these days. Often times teachers are presenting theories such as the evolution, or big bang theory, as facts. I am not saying that these things should not be taught at all but that they should be taught as what they are, theories. If we are teaching youth everything as pure fact then they will grow up believing what they were told, their opinions will already be made up. This makes it easy for something like antisemitism to be brainwashed into their minds, look at all the propaganda that was taught in Nazi Germany and how effective it was. Teaching someone what to think can be dangerous and we need to be careful to avoid it in the future.

Another problem made from “What to think” is that it can cause educational development standstills. The greatest leaps that mankind has made in learning have come from events such as the renaissance or the enlightenment, when people challenged what were considered facts at the time. If we do not teach to challenge ideas, then we are only deterring the future development of mankind.

This being said, I believe that we should be teaching HOW to think. Instead of telling people what the facts are, let us tell them how to discover the facts for themselves so they can form their own opinions. I know none of this is new but I just felt like saying something about it myself.

Why is there love?

I think it is safe to say that most people want to be loved right? Some people feel that they cannot live without someone to work for and provide for. So is love just a feeling we have evolved that provides a sense of meaning in our lives? Is it just our body’s way of getting us to reproduce? Or has God gone and created love so that we would have a cause to search for him to acquire it, or to use it to worship him? Did he create love so that we would have a reason to help other people? There are many opinions and reasons on why there is love but I wonder what other people think Is the reason for it? These are just my thoughts so what is the popular opinion?
